The problem with caps

Your cap has been quietly working against your hair.

Most caps are lined with cotton or mesh. It feels soft to your hand — but to your hair, it's rough. Every turn of your head, it rubs. Every hour you wear it, it soaks up the moisture you worked in this morning.

  1. 01

    Friction that frizzes

Rough fibres rough up the hair cuticle. That's the halo of frizz you find when the cap comes off.

  2. 02

    Moisture that disappears

Cotton is absorbent by design. It draws out the oils and product your hair needs to stay soft.

  3. 03

    Edges that take the strain

The hairline is the most delicate part of your hair — and exactly where a cap sits all day.

  4. 04

    Styles that don't survive

Fresh twist-out, silk press or new install — flattened, dented and dulled in a single afternoon.

So we lined the whole crown with satin.

See it move

Cotton outside. Satin where it counts.

The difference is on the inside.

What satin does

Same cap you love. Kinder to your hair.

Satin has a smooth, low-friction surface. Hair slides across it instead of catching — which is why it's what stylists recommend you sleep on. Now you can wear it out.

Less friction, less frizz

Strands glide over satin instead of rubbing against cotton — helping keep frizz and tangles down.

Moisture stays in your hair

Satin is far less absorbent than cotton, so your oils and products stay where you put them.

Your style, still intact

Take it off at dinner and your curls, waves or press still look intentional.

Gentler on your edges

A smooth interior where caps usually do the most damage — right along the hairline.

Why not just a bonnet?

The care of a bonnet. The look of a cap.

Until now you had to choose: protect your hair, or leave the house looking put together. Not anymore.

Questions

Good to know.

Can't find your answer? Message us — a real person replies.

Is this a real cap, or a bonnet in disguise?

A real cap. Cotton twill outside, a classic six-panel shape and a curved brim — it looks exactly like the cap you'd wear anyway. The satin is on the inside, where only your hair knows it's there.

Will it fit over braids, locs or a lot of volume?

It's one size with an adjustable back strap, so you can loosen it to sit comfortably over braids, twists, locs and fuller styles. See Size & fit on the product page for measurements.

Is the lining silk?

It's satin. Satin is a weave rather than a fibre — it's what gives the lining its smooth, glossy, low-friction surface. You get the glide hair loves, with easier care than silk.

Does satin really make a difference?

Satin is smoother and far less absorbent than the cotton or mesh most caps are lined with, so there's less rubbing against your hair and less moisture drawn out of it. It won't replace your routine — it simply stops your cap from undoing it.

Will it get hot?

The outer is breathable cotton twill with stitched eyelets for airflow, and the satin lining is lightweight and cool against the skin.

How do I care for it?

Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent, reshape and leave to air dry. Don't tumble dry, and don't iron the satin.

What if it's not right for me?
